  31. WHAT IT DOES
  32. ============

  34. DragText v1.1 gives Warp drag-and-drop text.
  35.  
  36.  - Drag text between windows or to the shredder.
  37.  - Drop text on a folder to create a file
  38.  - Drag a file into a window to read it
  39.  - Drop a URL on a folder to create a WebExplorer
  40.    Url object or drop it directly on WebEx
  41.  - Drag a folder into a window to list its contents
  42.  - Drop a file into a window to enter its name
  43.  
  44. DragText works with many popular apps, including the Internet Access
  45. Kit, System Editor and EPM.  DragText's Basic features are yours free
  46. for unlimited use.  Its Extended features are yours to try for 6 weeks.

  52. INSTALLATION
  53. ============
  54.  
  55. Run DTSetup to install DragText v1.1 and enable your 6-week free
  56. trial of DragText's Extended features.  It will copy files, create
  57. objects, and advise you of any restrictions imposed by your system.
  58. After a successful installation, you can load DragText v1.1 and use
  59. it immediately.  DTSetup can be used later to uninstall DragText.

  66. USING DRAGTEXT
  67. ==============
  68.  
  69. Run DragText at startup to load it.  It will remain in memory until
  70. you reboot, but it will NOT appear in any task or window list.
  71.  
  72. Run DragText again to open its Options Notebook whenever you need to:
  73.  - set its options and defaults
  74.  - disable it for a specific program
  75.  - review runtime statistics and error messages
  76.  - read the online Help
  77. DragText's help window has 'Forward' and 'Back' buttons to make
  78. browsing it easier.

  80. DragText supports 6 types of text window found in most PM apps:
  81.  
  82.     1)Single-line Entryfields   3)List boxes    5)Spin buttons          
  83.     2)Multi-line Entryfields    4)Combo boxes   6)Static text

  85. It uses 6 icons and 3 mouse pointers that change as you drag text
  86. and files to identify what will happen if you drop at that point.

  88. CTRL and SHIFT select copy and move operations (the default is copy);
  89. ALT inserts a file or folder's contents into an MLE;
  90. INSERT toggles between insert and replace mode (in entryfields only).
  91. Most defaults can be changed from the Options Notebook.

  94. Dragging Text
  95. -------------
  96. Highlight the text, then:
  97.  
  98. Drag text between windows:
  99.  - drag it to the target window
  100.  - position it using the I-beam mouse pointer (not the icon)
  101.  - drop it
  102.  
  103. Create a DragText file or WebExplorer_Url object:
  104.  - drag it to the Desktop or any folder
  105.  - drop it
  106. A file's title will be based on the text, minus punctuation.
  107. A Url objects's title comes from the Url, minus unnecessary words.

  110. Dragging Files and Folders
  111. --------------------------

  113. Read a DragText file or WebEx Url:
  114.  - drag the file or object into ANY supported window
  115.  - position it using the I-beam pointer
  116.  - drop it
  117. DragText treats its own files and Urls the same as dragged text.

  119. Read any file:
  120.  - drag the file into a multiline entryfield
  121.  - use the I-beam pointer to position it
  122.  - press the ALT key, then drop it
  123.  
  124. List a directory's contents:
  125.  - drag a folder icon into a multiline entryfield
  126.  - use the I-beam pointer to position it
  127.  - press the ALT key, then drop it
  128.  
  129. Enter a filename:
  130.  - drag a file icon into any supported window
  131.  - use the I-beam pointer to position it

  137. REGISTRATION
  138. ============
  139.  
  140. DragText's Basic features (dragging text between windows and entering
  141. filenames) are free and require no registration.  Unregistered users
  142. see a copyright message for 3 seconds at startup.
  143.  
  144. DragText's Extended features (file, folder and Url features) require
  145. registration.  They are enabled for 6 weeks after installation;
  146. Thereafter, they will be disabled until you register.
  147.  
  148. DragText can be registered to individual users directly with
  149. the author ($15) or through BMT Micro ($18).  You will receive
  150. a registration number that you enter on the last page of the
  151. Options Notebook.
  152.

  218.     -you transfer DragText as a whole and intact,
